Johnny Sauter will not run the Daytona 500

Johnny Sauter confirmed Thursday that he will not be running the Daytona 500 with NY Racing Team.

Sauter stated in a Thorsport Racing press conference that he had not been contacted by the team in the off-season, despite a leaked picture suggesting the possibility of him running the 500 with the team.

It is unclear who will race for NY Racing Team in the Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET; TV: FOX, Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) or if the team will even race.

Sauter will race for the No. 13 Vivitar Toyota in 2021, in hopes of claiming his second NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship.
