Newgarden ended his PPG Presents Armed Forces Qualifying day last Sunday with a disappointing session. The 2023 and 2024 champion of the INDY 500 will start 23rd for the race but after his great final practice, he looks to carve through the field.

He led recent oval-ace Christian Rasmussen by nearly a whole mph faster from his 228.342mph speed to Rasmussen’s 227.474mph.

David Malukas finished the session where he will start the 110th running, in 3rd.

Conor Daly and his Dreyer Reinbold Racing crew continued to fire on all cylinders. His floor looked well-intact as he finished the session in fourth.

Finally, Takuma Sato rounded out the top five as the final driver to eclipse the 226mph bracket in the final practice session.

While rain threatened to impact the session the night before, it thankfully never came. The whole field, and the drivers who fixed damage from the massive crash on Monday, were able to do their final shakedowns ahead of the big day.

2159 green-flag circuits were turned with all 33 teams partaking. Now the NTT INDYCAR Series faces its largest and final challenge of May, the 110th running of the Indianapolis 500.

Below is the full results of the eighth and final practice session from Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
