Surviving two NASCAR Overtimes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race, Allgaier ultimately finished second, ahead of Cole Custer (eighth), A.J. Allmendinger (ninth), and Austin Hill (10th) to capture his first title in his 14th full-time season.

โ€œDale (Earnhardt) Jr., Kelley Earnhardt Miller, L.W. Miller, everybody at JR Motorsports, all the men and women, all five of our race teams, just the effort that we’ve put in, I’m at a loss for words,โ€ Allgaier said. โ€œWe’re going to celebrate this one for sure. It’s unbelievable.โ€

Allgaier is the sixth different driver to win the championship in the last six years.

Nine drivers have won two titles in the series, which is the most all time.
