Justin Allgaier finishes disappointing 17th at Dover
DOVER, Del. — After a hard wreck last weekend at Talladega, Justin Allgaier wrecked again on the final lap at Dover to finish 17th.ย

Allgaier, with two wins and 12 top-fives at Dover, found himself in contention for much of Saturdayโs clash at The Monster Mile. He won the first stage and finished sixth in the second but it all fell apart when the rain arrived.
When the caution for rain came out with 42 laps to go, Allgaier was in second. When NASCAR opened pit road, Allgaier was among the top-six drivers who stayed out. He looked smart as the red flag came out, potentially setting Allgaier up for a second-place finish.ย
Unfortunately for Allgaier, the rain would subside. After Austin Hill bumped him out of the lead, Allgaier pitted under the next caution that quickly came.
Speaking of Hill, Sheldon Creed bumped Allgaier into the wall while Hill spun in turn two. Then Allgaier wrecked off of turn four at the white flag. That ended the race under caution.
Allgaier hasnโt been at his best so far in 2024. He is winless with only two top-fives and two top-10s at this point. A win will come soon but the No. 7 team would like to see some consistency going forward.ย
The NASCAR Xfinity Series will take next week off before returning at Darlington. Then, they’ll go green May 11 at Darlington for the Crown Royal Purple Bag Project 200 (1:30 p.m. ET; FS1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio).
