Kasey Kahne set for return to NASCAR racing
WELCOME, N.C. — Kasey Kahne will make his return to NASCAR with Richard Childress Racing this April at Rockingham Speedway.
Kasey Kahne will drive RCR’s No. 33 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at The Rock.

“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of a stock car, especially at a place like Rockingham Speedway,” Kahne said. “Rockingham has been a special track throughout my career. I remember winning the Truck Series race in 2012 when the sport went back there last, so to be a part of the current return is cool.”
In just his second NASCAR Cup Series start, Kahne nearly edged out Matt Kenseth in a photo finish at The Rock. It was the last Cup Series race there to date – and the last NASCAR race there until the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race Kahne won in 2012.
Health issues sidelined Kahne from NASCAR racing near the end of the 2018 Cup Series season. The Xfinity Series start in April will mark his first NASCAR start since the 2018 Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
“Very appreciative of the opportunity that Mr. Hendrick, Richard (Childress), and everyone at RCR have given me, along with the support of HendrickCars.com, Chevrolet, Curb Records, and Karavan Trailers. I look forward to hitting the track next week for the test,” Kahne said.
NASCAR Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series teams will take part in a test Tuesday, Jan. 28, at The Rock.
