Kaulig Racing drivers highlight Top-5 finishers at ROVAL

At the conclusion of the Bank of America ROVAL 400 Sunday, the final pylon showed A.J. Allmendinger and Justin Haley among the top-five finishers at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course.
Leading 24 laps, road racing ace A.J. Allmendinger ultimately finished fourth — his fourth consecutive Top-10 finish in his limited Cup Series schedule. Just behind him was his Kaulig Racing teammate Justin Haley in fifth — his third top-five result of 2022 and the second in third races.
“When you are that close to winning, it’s for sure disappointing,” said Allmendinger, who won the day before for the team in the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at the road course.
“But I’m happy with the way this No. 16 Action Industries Chevy was. It was really fast. We just need to work a little bit on pit road.”
Sunday’s race marked the first time in Kaulig Racing’s Cup Series tenure that the team featured two of its drivers within the Top-10 in the same race.

“So proud of Kaulig Racing,” Haley said on social media. “Awesome home town race for us, appreciate the hard work from everyone. We will keep building, improving, and growing. The best is yet to come.”
Kaulig Racing announced on Wednesday, Oct. 5, that A.J. Allmendinger would return to the NASCAR Cup Series on a full-time basis in 2023. They also announced Justin Haley would return to the race the No. 31 full-time again as Allmendinger’s teammate.
