Kaulig Racing announced Thursday afternoon that the team intends to run select NASCAR Cup Series races in 2021.

The team released a statement detailing their intentions to run a partial schedule that includes road course and superspeedway races, such as the Daytona 500 (2:30 p.m. ET, Feb. 14; TV: FOX; Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) .

Kaulig also indicated that the team is working toward a full-time Cup effort in the future.

“Kaulig Racing is always building toward the future and I believe this is the next step in that process,” said team owner Matt Kaulig. “We have the ultimate goal of becoming a powerhouse team in the Cup Series and we are excited to continue our team’s growth.”

No announcements have been been in regards to drivers, partnerships or any potential Cup races they will run, aside from the Daytona 500. The team is still actively seeking partnership opportunities for the 2021 Cup season.

Justin Haley drove a No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet to a 13th place finish in the 2020 Daytona 500, the team’s lone Cup start to date.

Kaulig Racing will be fielding full-time entries in the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for No. 10 Jeb Burton, No. 11 Justin Haley and No. 16 A.J. Allmendinger.

The team has scored seven Xfinity wins, with Haley winning three times in 2020, Ross Chastain winning once in 2019 and Allmendinger winning once in 2019 and twice in 2020.
