Kaz Grala gets 25 NASCAR Cup Series races in 2024

Rick Ware Racing named Kaz Grala to drive its No. 15 Ford Mustang in 25 NASCAR Cup Series races in 2024.

Working with crew chief Billy Plourde, Grala will get to compete in his largest planned slate of Cup Series starts.

Grala will compete February 4 in the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum, then compete in his first 2024 points race February 25 at Atlanta.

“Kaz Grala is a talented and tenacious driver who brings a lot to our race team,” Rick Ware said. “He has an incredible work ethic and leverages every opportunity to its full potential. He’s an asset inside and outside of the car who will help make our program better.”

Already Grala has seven NASCAR Cup Series starts to his name. He earned a top-10 finish in his debut driving the No. 3 car at the Daytona road course in 2020.

Grala won in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Daytona in 2017. Last year, he competed full-time in the Xfinity Series for Sam Hunt Racing.

Austin Dillon, whom Grala filled in for in 2020, regarded Grala as a “businessman racecar driver” for his savviness in acquiring sponsorship and staying afloat.

“I’ve found myself as an underdog at each level of NASCAR. And I feel I thrive in that position,” Grala said. “It’s important to get the most out of the car on restarts and in the closing laps of a race, all while taking care of the equipment. Those are my strengths. I also like to be hands-on with the team during the week, involved in what the next step is to advance our program.”

RWR already named Justin Haley to its No. 51 Ford with Chris Lawson as crew chief. The organization now only has around 13 races to fill out the roster for.
