Kaz Grala to attempt Daytona 500

Kaz Grala will attempt to make the Daytona 500 in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing entry next month, the team announced Wednesday (Jan. 13).

The team will have to qualify for the race as an open team.

Justin Haley attempted the Daytona 500 last year for the team, making the race and finishing 13th.

Grala has competed in one Cup Series race, subbing for Austin Dillon at the Daytona Road Course in August 2020, posting a seventh-place effort.

The 2021 Daytona 500 at Daytona International Raceway is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 14.
