KBM announces driver lineup, REV Racing partnership for 2023
AVONDALE, ARIZ. — Kyle Busch Motorsports announced their 2023 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver lineup Friday at Phoenix Raceway.
Chase Purdy will drive the No. 4 Chevrolet as the team’s main full-time driver. Jack Wood will be the “anchor driver” of the No. 51, as he will share the ride with NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series drivers in 2023.
Purdy has five top-10s in 51 NCWTS starts and Wood has one top-10 in 34 starts.
In a twist Friday, KBM also announced a partnership with REV Racing and Nick Sanchez, who will drive the No. 2 Chevrolet full-time next season.
Sanchez has had three finishes of 12th or better in his seven Xfinity starts and excelled in his five starts driving the Big Machine Racing No. 48 Chevrolet, but he’s never made a Truck start.
However, with the No. 48 going to Parker Kligerman for 2023 and a plan in place, Sanchez has found a home at REV Racing that he believes will work long-term.
“In this day and age, you can’t look one year out,” Sanchez explained. “You have to look 2, 3, 4 years and they came to me with a plan and I wanna buy into it.”
Kyle Busch also said he saw Sanchez’s 2022 success and how he stacked up against his drivers as motivators to sign the young driver. Then, through Chevrolet, Busch’s good relationship with REV Racing President Max Siegel translated to a professional partnership finally being formed.
Sanchez will be sponsored by REV Racing sponsor Gainbridge. No further details are available on the No. 4 and No. 51 trucks, including a full driver lineup for the No. 51 aside from Jack Wood.
