Kurt Busch will lead the 40-car field to the green flag in the 2020 Coca-Cola 600.

Busch posted a lap time of 29.790 seconds (181.269 MPH) in qualifying Sunday (May 24 at Charlotte Motor Speedway).

The pole award was Busch’s first of 2020, the 28th of his NASCAR Cup Series career, and his first since the 2018 season.

Jimmie Johnson will begin his quest to break a 101-race winless streak in NASCAR’s premier series from the outside pole in the Coca-Cola 600.

Johnson posted the second-fastest lap time in qualifying (29.799 seconds, 181.214 MPH).

Johnson, an 83-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, last saw Victory Lane at Dover International Speedway in May of 2017.

Chase Elliott, Matt Kenseth, and rookie Tyler Reddick will start inside the Top-5.

2019 Coca-Cola 600 polesitter William Byron will start 10th.
