Kyle Larson is seeking his sixth Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series victory this weekend when the Cup series returns to Michigan International Speedway this weekend for the Firekeepers Casino 400.

The 25-year-old driver has netted five top-10s in eight races at the speedway. The driver has also won the last three events.

“I’m excited to go there off of three wins in a row,” Larson said. “You know, for whatever reason, we’ve been fast there.  We actually weren’t that fast in the last one (race, August 2017) we had, but we were able to have some good restarts at the end.

“Hopefully we can go and have our car as competitive as it was the first two times and try and get a fourth win.”

Larson has led for 140 laps in his last 4 starts at the massive 2-mile speedway.

So far in 2018, the California-native has scored six top-10s in the last seven points-awarding races this season.

Larson finished second at Auto Club Speedway earlier this year, which is designed similarly to Michigan International Speedway.

Larson is currently ninth in points, 115 points above the playoff cutline.
