Kyle Larson ties four drivers on wins list
Kyle Larson’s victory Sunday in the NOCO 400 at Martinsville Speedway marked the Hendrick Motorsports driver’s second victory of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season and the 21st of his career.
“This is an extremely special win for me,” said Larson, who picked up his first win at the Virginia short track. “I’ve worked very hard to get better here. I feel like every time there’s a test available, I get put on that list to test here because I struggle.”
Larson is now tied with Jeff Burton, 2000 series Bobby Labonte, 1973 series champion Benny Parsons, and Jack Smith for 38th all-time on the series’ wins list. Larson started the season tied for 44th on the series’ all-time wins list.
The 2021 series champion has Terry Labonte, who also drove the No. 5 for Hendrick Motorsports, ahead of him next on the wins list at 22 victories.
Seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty tops the wins list with 200. He’s followed by three-time champion David Pearson (105), four-time champion Jeff Gordon (93), 1983 champion Bobby Allison (84) and three-time champion Darrell Waltrip (84).
