Kyle Weatherman earns best Xfinity career start
DOVER, Del. — Kyle Weatherman earned his best career start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, qualifying well inside the top 10 Friday at Dover Motor Speedway.

Weatherman qualified his No. 91 DGM Racing Chevrolet in sixth for the BetRivers 200, set to run Saturday. He turned in a time of 23.123 seconds, averaging 155.689 MPH – faster than three Joe Gibbs Racing cars, three JR Motorsports cars and favorites like Jesse Love, A.J. Allmendinger and Cole Custer.
Weatherman has had three prior top-10 qualifying efforts:
- 8th: Michigan International Speedway, August 2022 with Jesse Iwuji
- 8th: Homestead-Miami Speedway, October 2022 with Iwuji
- 10th: Phoenix Raceway, March 2022 with DGM Racing
While DGM Racing has had several top-10 qualifying efforts on road courses with Alex Labbe in particular but also Ross Chastain and Preston Pardus, this is the organization’s best qualifying effort on an oval.
Their previous best effort on an oval was seventh with Josh Williams last year – also at Dover Motor Speedway. Williams finished 23rd, two laps down in the race.

Weatherman showed speed in practice. He was second-fastest with a time of 23.441 seconds, averaging 153.577 MPH. He ran 16 laps but didn’t run more than nine laps consecutively.
