Last-lap pass nets Moffitt victory at Chicagoland

One man’s misfortune is another’s gain.
Brett Moffitt took the checkered flag in the Friday night in the Overton’s 225 at Chicagoland Speedway, passing John Hunter Nemechek on the last lap as Nemechek’s truck appeared to slow.
Moffitt led four times for a total of 17 laps. The margin of victory was 5.092 seconds over second-place Ben Rhodes.
The win was his third of 2018 and fourth of his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career.
Rounding out the top-five positions were Johnny Sauter, Noah Gragson and Brandon Jones.
Nemechek, who led for 64 laps, ultimately finished seventh.
“Blew up going into Turn 1 [on the final lap], just don’t have luck on our side,” Nemechek said to FOX Sports post race.
The series’ next stop is July 12 at Kentucky Speedway.
