Logano wins pole for the Enjoy Illinois 300 at Gateway
MADISON, Ill. — Joey Logano sets the lone sub-33 second time and wins pole for the Enjoy Illinois 300 from World Wide Technology Raceway.
This is his second pole of the season and now his 35th pole of his career.

Logano finished second in the lone practice session and found another position in the following session. He set the only time in the 32-second bracket of a 32.817.
This track had been circled by all of Team Penske as a must win track in the Chase and Logano has the best view for tomorrow’s start.
Right beside him is another driver near the middle of the Chase standings, Kyle Larson. Larson will start on the front row from second as he becomes the bridesmaid for the second consecutive season here at Gateway.
The only driver to best Logano in practice was his teammate, Ryan Blaney. Blaney will look for his first Gateway win from third.
Last week’s CookOut Southern 500 winner, Christopher Bell, will line up alongside him on the second row from fourth.
Then Chase Briscoe delivered a great lap to round out the top five qualifers from fifth.
The man his boss is feuding with starts beside him in sixth. Carson Hocevar will look for another top-ten result from the track where he made his NASCAR Cup Series debut.
Bubba Wallace and Chase Elliott comprise the fourth row from seventh and eighth.
Finally, two more Chase drivers round out the top ten. Ty Gibbs and defending winner and championship leader Denny Hamlin qualified ninth and tenth.
Notable Entrants
Alex Bowman qualified as the highest starting non-Chase driver from 11th. Zane Smith will join him from 12th on the sixth row.
2024 Enjoy Illinois 300 winner Austin Cindric leads the rest of the Chase drivers who will start outside the top ten. He will start 13th with Ryan Preece right there in 14th.
Daniel Suarez will line up in 15th, then Reddick in 18th, Buescher in 21st, and finally Byron’s on the backfoot again in 24th.
All 36 entrants qualified into the Enjoy Illinois 300.
