Even if Martin Truex Jr. were to cap off his final full-time NASCAR Cup Series race as the victor in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix Sunday, Truex will continue to race next year.

Truex, who won the pole for the Phoenix race Saturday, said he would continue to race even if he were to win on Sunday.

โ€œI still want to race some,โ€ Truex said to The Racing Experts.

Truex, 44, is expected to race in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, the team he has raced for since 2019.

Truex, who has raced full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series since 2006, has amassed 34 victories and the 2017 series champion.

Truex announced in June he would step away from full-time racing at the conclusion of the 2024 season.
