Michael McDowell earns fourth top-10 of 2020

In many categories, 2020 continues to be a career year for Michael McDowell in the NASCAR Cup Series.

With a 10th-place finish Saturday in the Bass Pro Shops/NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway, McDowell has earned his fourth top-10 finish of the year, the most he has ever posted in a single Cup Series season.

McDowell’s average finish of 19.6 is on pace for a career best in the series.

“I’m really proud of everybody at Front Row Motorsports,” McDowell said. “I’m so thankful to Bob Jenkins and all of my guys for giving me this opportunity.

“It’s the best season that I’ve ever had and another Top-10 really helps to keep our momentum rolling.

McDowell is in his third season driving for Front Row Motorsports. He is ranked 22nd in points with seven races left in the season.

If McDowell finishes 25th or better in points, he will earn his best finish in points to date in the Cup Series.

Bristol marked the completion of McDowell’s 350th start in the series. The Arizona-native has earned three Top-5 finishes, 12 Top-10 finishes and has led 87 laps in the series.
