Austin Hill and Jimmie Johnson are driving the two open entries entered this weekend. Each driver will make their first start of the season.

So far, all but two races (Phoenix and Bristol) have had at least one open entry but this will be the third race with multiple open entries (Daytona and COTA are the others).

Kaz Grala remains in the No. 15 Rick Ware Racing Ford while Ty Dillon will make his second start in the No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet.

Grala finished 26th at Martinsville, which is RWR’s best finish at the track since April 2021. Just two cars fell out of the race and only five cautions flew for 51 laps, compared to seven cars and 15 cautions for 102 laps in 2021.

Grala also finished two laps down Sunday. In 2021, all three RWR cars finished six or more laps down – in 22nd, 23rd and 25th.

Kaz Grala sits 33rd in points, ahead of Harrison Burton and Zane Smith and just -7 points to teammate Justin Haley. Grala is averaging a 27th-place finish overall and a 25.4 in his seven starts with RWR – around 1.5 positions better than Haley.

Grala will make 25 starts this season. So far, he is on start No. 8, including the Busch Light Clash at the Coliseum. He raced the Daytona 500 with Front Row Motorsports.

NASCAR Cup Series’ Odds and Prop Bets for Texas

Here are the odds from DraftKings:

  • Kyle Larson (Fall 2021 winner): +350 to win/+105 for a top-3 finish
  • William Byron (Fall ’23): +600/+170
  • Denny Hamlin (3 TMS wins): +700/+210
  • Tyler Reddick (Fall ’21): +750/+225
  • Ryan Blaney: +1200/+340
  • Christopher Bell, Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace: +1200/+350

Bubba Wallace jumps off the page immediately. The last time the NASCAR Cup Series visited Texas Motor Speedway, Wallace won the pole and led 111 laps (race high).

Wallace led after a fierce battle with Kyle Larson, the only driver better than him all day. Then, a bum restart with six laps to go kicked Wallace back to third while William Byron won.

Coming off of a strong top-5 finish at Martinsville and a top-10 run at Richmond, Wallace is one to watch for at TMS.

Bubba Wallace (+135) is up against Tyler Reddick (-185) in one of the prop bets this week. You also have:

  • William Byron (+115) vs. Kyle Larson (-150)
  • Daniel Suarez (+150) vs. Brad Keselowski (-205)
  • Ryan Blaney (-165) vs. Chase Elliott (+125)
  • Ryan Preece (+150) vs. Chase Briscoe (-205)
  • Tyler Reddick (-120) vs. Denny Hamlin (-110)

Returning to the series are Ryan Truex and Daniel Dye with JGR and Kaulig Racing, respectively.

  • David Starr

  • Stewart Friesen (-105) vs. Chase Purdy (-125)
  • Corey Heim (+120) vs. Kyle Busch (-160)
  • Nick Sanchez (-170) vs. Tyler Ankrum (+125)
  • Christian Eckes (+105) vs. Corey Heim (-1350
  • Tyler Ankrum (-105) vs. Zane Smith (-125)
  • Christian Eckes (+140) vs. Kyle Busch (-190)
  • Zane Smith (-110) vs. Nick Sanchez (-120)

Busch is a favorite across the board but beware. In the last speedway race, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he finished outside the top-10 and off the lead lap.
