NASCAR at Watkins Glen 2024: Odds, TV/radio times and more info

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. — Watkins Glen International will finally get the chance to host a NASCAR playoff race this weekend with the NASCAR Cup Series.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series and the ARCA Menards Series will join the NASCAR Cup Series at the beloved 2.45-mile New York road course. Drivers will hope their playoff chances will stay green and not change like the fall leaves all around them this time of the year.

NASCAR Cup Series’ Go Bowling at The Glen

  • Sunday at 3 p.m. (all times Eastern)
  • Laps: 90 (stages end on laps 20/40/90)
  • Practice and qualifying: Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

There are two open teams on the entry list this weekend. Kaulig Racing has an extra No. 13 entry for A.J. Allmendinger, while 23XI Racing has an extra No. 50 entry for Juan Montoya. Montoya will make his first NASCAR Cup Series start since 2014, which is the same year that Allmendinger won at Watkins Glen. Montoya won at The Glen in 2010.

In the revolving No. 15 Rick Ware Racing and No. 16 Kaulig Racing entries are Kaz Grala and Shane van Gisbergen, respectively.

NASCAR Cup Series Odds at Watkins Glen

Kyle Larson is the odds-on favorite for the NASCAR Cup Series race Sept. 15 at Watkins Glen (+550). William Byron (+625), Shane van Gisbergen (+700), Tyler Reddick (+750) and Chase Elliott (+850) are the other odds-on favorites.

NASCAR Xfinity Series’ Mission 200 at The Glen

  • Practice and Qualifying: Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

With 41 entries, three drivers will go home. Austin Green is back with his partnership between Peterson Racing Group and Jordan Anderson Racing. JAR also has a No. 87 entry with a driver TBA. 

Four NASCAR Cup Series regulars are in the field:

  • Joey Logano with AM Racing
  • William Byron with Hendrick Motorsports
  • Ty Gibbs with Joe Gibbs Racing
  • Ross Chastain with DGM Racing

MBM Motorsports is back with their No. 13 Ford. Kyle Keller is listed as the driver. 

Kyle Weatherman is listed in the No. 36 entry while Josh Bilicki is in the No. 91 entry this weekend. Weatherman has raced the No. 91 full-time all season. 

Alon Day is back, this time with Alpha Prime Racing in the No. 45 Chevrolet. Jade Buford and IndyCar Series export RC Enerson are in the SS-Green Light Racing rides. IndyCar export Ed Jones is also racing this weekend, for Sam Hunt Racing.

At +115, Shane van Gisbergen is far and away the odds-on favorite for the NASCAR Xfinity Series race Sept. 14 at Watkins Glen. Ty Gibbs (+375), William Byron (+550), AJ Allmendinger (+800) and Connor Zilisch (+850) are the other odds-on favorites.
