On Monday (June 29), NASCAR released a statement announcing that the annual Champion’s Week festivities in Nashville will not be occurring this year.

The festivities were scheduled for December 3-5 and included the NASCAR Cup Series awards banquet but have been canceled due to the COVID-19 global pandemic and its impact on the industry.

Although festivities have been canceled for this year, the year-end Champion’s Week will return to the Music City in 2021, which is also when Nashville Superspeedway will host its inaugural Cup race in nearby Lebanon, Tenn.

The NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series champions will be celebrated at the end of the 2020 season with details yet TBA.
