NASCAR: Kyle Larson scores first Cup Series win of 2026 at Gateway
MADISON, Ill. — Kyle Larson held off Alex Bowman and Joey Logano for victory in the Enjoy Illinois 300 in NASCAR Overtime Sunday at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Larson scored his first victory since Kansas in May 2025, snapping a 51-race winless streak in the NASCAR Cup Series.
“I haven’t doubted our team, maybe myself at times, but never our team,” Larson said to USA Sports after his win.
Bowman finished second, his fourth Top-5 of the season and highest of the year. Logano led the most laps, settling for third.
Ross Chastain and William Byron rounded out the Top-5 finishers.

Even though the Chevy’s have been way out paced by the crazy fast Toyota’s and the always admirable Penske Ford’s, Kyle Larson wins a playoff race and moves to second in points! I know it’s not the case but it’s almost like NASCAR has tried to keep Larson down at all costs and still can’t because he’s that talented! Toyota is a big sponsor and Hamlin still deserves a championship but it hard to stop the BEST!
