NASCAR reinstates Chase Elliott spotter Eddie D’Hondt

NASCAR announced Friday afternoon that Eddie D’Hondt has been reinstated by the sanctioning body.

The move comes after battery and assault charges against D’Hondt were dismissed Friday following a lack of compelling evidence.

On May 12, D’Hondt was arrested on battery and assault charges. D’Hondt was indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for not reporting the arrest.

D’Hondt will spot for Chase Elliott in Sunday’s Ally 400 at Nashville Superspeedway (2:30 p.m. ET; TV: NBCSN, Radio: MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)
