The NASCAR Cup and Craftsman Truck Series are set to take on the 2-mile speedway in Brooklyn, Mich. Saturday and Sunday.

Friday Update

The National Weather Service is reporting after 5 p.m. a chance of thunderstorms and showers for Friday, with the chances of precipitation at 30 percent.

For Saturday, the NWS says “showers likely before 2 p.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m.”

On Saturday, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. and NASCAR Cup Series practice/qualifying is scheduled for 5 p.m.

For Sunday, the NWS forecast calls for “mostly sunny, with a high near 86.” The NASCAR Cup Series race is scheduled for 3 p.m.

Wednesday Update

At the time of publication Wednesday (June 3), shower chances are in the forecast near Michigan International Speedway Friday night and showers are “likely” across Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

As of Wednesday, June 3, the NWS forecast showed “a chance of showers after 2 p.m. (ET)” for Sunday with “a chance of showers” continuing into Sunday night. The Cup Series race is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.

Inclement weather has dampened on-track activity in each of the last two NASCAR race weekends, with on-track delays during the Charlotte and Nashville race weekends.

In 2023 and 2024, Cup Series races at MIS were postponed to the next day because of rain.

This article will be updated throughout the week as more information becomes available from the NWS.
