Nemechek open to running in Cup Series

NASCAR Truck Series team owner/driver Joe Nemechek would not mind competing in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series if the opportunity arose.
The days of his team, NEMCO Motorsports, fielding a Cup Series carโsomething he did in two full-time stints behind the wheelโis not something he would entertain.
โThe stuff that goes on in the garage is out-of-control,โ Nemechek said to The Racing Experts. โThis [Truck Series] garage, we still have fun, we do it with a few people, and weโre competitive.
โOver there, you better have a huge wallet, a lot of people, a lot of technology, and youโre still going to be struggling to run 20th. Itโs a tough, tough deal.โ
Yet, the 54-year-old driver said he is โabsolutelyโ open to running in the Cup Series if a team called him up and asked him to drive their car.
Nemechek has competed in 667 total Cup Series races, amassing four victories and 10 pole positions.
Nemechek last raced in the Cup Series in 2015 in a one-race deal for Front Row Motorsport at Atlanta.
