New dual citizen Daniel Suarez to race for DGM Racing in Chicago
Daniel Suarez will pilot the No. 36 Chevrolet for DGM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the Chicago Street Course next weekend.
Suarez will have sponsorship from Universal Beauty Products. The company will also sponsor full-time driver Kyle Weatherman. Weatherman will have their Beard Guyz brand on the car while Suarez will have the Van Der Hagen brand.

“I am really looking forward to the opportunity to working with DGM Racing as I represent Van Der Hagen’s shaving products in Chicago,” Daniel Suarez said. “The Chicago Street Course is a very important track to me, and I am thankful to Mario and his team for the opportunity to log additional laps ahead of Sunday’s Cup race.”
Suarez is fresh off becoming a dual citizen of the U.S. and his home country of Mexico. He passed the citizenship test in late April and completed the Oath of Allegiance last week.

Suarez first came to the U.S. in the early 2010s on a work visa, learning English through cartoons. According to NBC Sports, he had a visa for “special talents” that he had to renew every three years in his hometown.
So, instead, he applied for a green card. The process reportedly took around 18 months but finally wrapped up in 2018 when he received his green card.
Now, all that isn’t needed as Suarez is a naturalized citizen.

Suarez will race on the streets of one of the marquee cities for an Xfinity Series team he has never partnered up with – DGM Racing, a team that teammate Ross Chastain has raced for 10 times since 2022. In that same time, Suarez has raced in the Xfinity Series just three times, most recently at Daytona in February.
