LEBANON, TENN. — Sunday’s Big Machine Music City Grand Prix saw Colton Herta earn his first oval NTT INDYCAR Series win while Alex Palou earned his third title in four years.

Championship competitor Will Power’s seatbelt came undone on lap 9 of 206, causing him to pit and lose multiple laps, giving Palou an easy path to the 2024 championship.

Power wasn’t the only one who struggled. Felix Rosenqvist crashed with a flat tire on the frontstretch on lap 56, Katherine Legge spun off of turn two on lap 89 and Marcus Ericsson crashed in turn four on lap 135.

In the end, it was Colton Herta who emerged ahead, making a daring three-wide pass around a lap car on Pato O’Ward for the lead with five laps to go. The win was his second on the season and vaulted him to second in points behind Palou.
