Pocono and Iowa near sellouts for NASCAR Cup Series dates
NEWTON, Iowa — Pocono Raceway and Iowa Speedway are nearing sellouts for their summer NASCAR Cup Series dates, according to the tracks.

Pocono Raceway reported they sold out of camping for its June 20-22 NASCAR race weekend and have “limited tickets” available for the June 22 NASCAR Cup Series race.
Meanwhile, Iowa Speedway reported Tuesday “less than 100 tickets remain” for its Aug. 3 NASCAR Cup Series race.
Pocono and Iowa faced declines in attendance throughout the 2010s with two race weekends that were just 6-8 weeks of each other. Then, each track dropped to one race weekend and saw attendance go up.
Last year, Pocono saw its best attendance in 14 years and camping sold out while Iowa saw a total sellout.
Iowa’s path back to glory wasn’t as linear as Pocono. After the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic hit in 2020, the track disappeared from the schedule for three years. However, Iowa-based grocery store chain HyVee investing in the NTT INDYCAR Series race weekend built up enough momentum to where NASCAR returned in full force with the first Cup Series race there last year.
The NASCAR Cup Series has had at least six reported sellouts in 17 weeks, including the Clash and the All-Star Race. The Mexico City weekend also has limited tickets left.
