Preece on pole, Busch fastest in practice for NASCAR Cup race at Richmond
RICHMOND, Va. — Ryan Preece will start on the pole for the NASCAR Cup Series’ Cook Out 400 race Saturday night at Richmond Raceway.

Preece will share the front row with Tyler Reddick. Preece is below the cutline entering Richmond while Reddick is projected to make the playoffs based on where he is in points.
Meanwhile, Preece is one of five drivers in the top-10 starters who just about needs a win to get into the playoffs.
Kyle Busch is one of those drivers. He was fastest in practice on overall speed and the 5-, 10-, 15- and 20-lap averages but will roll off 28th.
