Report: Auto Club Speedway changing layout

Auto Club Speedway will be transforming the track to a half-mile high-banked speedway, The Athletic first reported on Tuesday, September 8.

NASCAR has been racing at the two-mile Southern California track since 1997.

NASCAR competition will continue to use the 2-mile layout in 2021.

The half-mile track will be ready in 2022, the report said.
