Restart zone relocated to turns for Indy race weekend

NASCAR will move the restart zone for this weekend’s races at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course to be between turns 13 and 14.
The change comes as NASCAR is trying to produce cleaner restarts on road courses.
A fever pitch came at Circuit of the Americas in March when seven of final 15 laps were run under caution. The race finally ended under green in triple-overtime with the race extended by seven laps/21 miles.
Just two weeks before at Phoenix Raceway, Busch discussed a decline in respect among drivers. Cup Series drivers have also repeatedly derided “Indy turn one” when discussing that.
Last year, the restart zone at Indy was just before the start-finish line on the frontstretch. Chaos ensued as drivers beated and banged in the turns. Some drivers, like Ross Chastain, even completely cut the course to avoid the chaos.
With the new restart zone, drivers can change lanes before the start-finish line. However, they must do it after exiting the restart zone.
NASCAR also says the choose V will be in turn seven.
