Ryan Blaney earns ISM Raceway pole

AVONDALE, Ariz. — Ryan Blaney will lead the field to the green flag in the TicketGuardian 500 at ISM Raceway Sunday.

With a Friday lap time of 25.480 seconds at ISM Raceway, or 141.287 mph average speed, Blaney will lead the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series for the first time in 2019. Chase Elliott will start on the outside front row.

Denny Hamlin, Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top-five qualifiers.

Kevin Harvick, the 2018 spring ISM Raceway winner, will start eighth.

Defending series champion Joey Logano will start 12th.

Blaney joins Jeff Burton, Ricky Craven, Tiny Lund, Eddie Pagan and Mike Skinner as drivers who have earned six career poles, 80th all-time on that list.

The TicketGuardian 500 will be televised live on FOX Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET.
