Ryan Blaney soars to AAA Texas 500 Pole

FORT WORTH —Ryan Blaney will lead the field to the green flag Sunday in the AAA Texas 500. Blaney posted a fast lap of 26.032 seconds and averaged a speed of 200.505 mph. It is his third career pole in Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series competition.
“It felt really fast,” Blaney said. “That is what you get with this night time qualifying. High speeds. That is really what you get. That is cool doing under the lights qualifying. Speeds pick up and it has been cool here today.
“We have had a really good Ford all day and it is nice to back it up in qualifying. It doesn’t mean a lot if you are fastest in practice and blow it in qualifying. It was cool to be solid all day. Really big thanks to this whole group for giving me a really great race car and I am excited to see how it is in race trim tomorrow.”
Ford Performance teammate Clint Bower will start on the outside pole, followed by Kevin Harvick, Aric Almirola, and Brad Keselowski.
Kyle Busch, who claimed victory at Texas earlier this year, will start 10th.
The AAA Texas 500 race is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. EST Sunday, November 4th (NBCSN, MRN).
