Ryan Newman adds NASCAR Xfinity Series race to schedule

The return of Ryan Newman continues as he added a NASCAR Xfinity Series race with MBM Motorsports to his 2023 schedule.
Newman will drive the MBM No. 66 Ford in the October 21 Contender Boats 300 at Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 2002 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year last raced in the Xfinity Series at Texas in November 2012.
“Homestead is one of my favorite tracks on the schedule. From being able to rip the fence to having to manage tire wear, the track suits my driving style perfectly,” Newman said. “My goal is to give Carl, MBM Motorsports and their partners a fantastic run. Hopefully we’ll end the evening in victory lane.”
Homestead-Miami Speedway is the site of Newman’s most recent Xfinity Series win, in November 2005. He has six other wins in his Xfinity Series career.
Newman will have sponsorship from GenerX Generators.
“I have known Ryan since his rookie season in the Cup Series. When the opportunity presented itself to have him join us in Miami, it was a no brainer to elevate our organization,” said Carl Long, the owner of MBM. “Having a partner like GenerX Generators come back is not only massive but also give us the opportunity to have Ryan help represent their brand.”
Newman has made five Cup Series starts this season for Rick Ware Racing. His best finish was 27th in the September 3 Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway.
Newman has seven Xfinity Series wins
