“I’m really proud of everyone at JTG Daugherty Racing for giving us a car that was fast and even with the damage from a late-race caution, we were able to hold our track position and get a second top-10 finish for the season,” Preece said.
After two events, Preece and his open team are seventh in driver’s points with a 39-point advantage to over the playoff cutline.
Preece is one of four drivers (Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, and Michael McDowell) to earn a Top-10 finish in each of the first two races.
“It’s been a great start so far,” Preece said. “We’re just going to keep digging forward next week at Homestead-Miami Speedway.”
