Ryan Preece grabs second consecutive Top-10 at Homestead

HOMESTEAD, Fla- Most fans may not have had back-to-back Top-10 finishes at two 1.5-mile racetracks for Ryan Preece on their bingo cards.ย

Preece finished ninth Sunday in the Straight Talk Wireless 400 Sunday at Homestead-Miami Speedway, following up his third-place run at Las Vegas.

The RFK Racing driver has now recorded his second consecutive Top-10 at Homestead as he finished 10th in last year’s playoff race in October.ย

Going back further, Preece led 34 laps at Phoenix, albeit on an option tire strategy, and secured a playoff point by winning a stage at COTA while the field pitted before the stage caution.ย

Itโ€™s Preeceโ€™s second consecutive top-10 at Homestead as he finished 10th back in Octobers playoff race.

The solid start for the year comes on the heels of his scary blow over wreck at Daytona. His impressive recovery leaves him currently sitting right on the playoff cutline in the NASCAR Cup Series standings, tied with Kyle Busch and John Hunter Nemechek.

The hot start could mean Preece is set to post a career year in 2025. He has never finished in the top-five more than once in a season, and has only finished with more than two top-10s in three of his first seven Cup Series seasons.

For the rest of RFK Racing, Brad Keselowski was a non-factor finishing 26th, while Chris Buescher had a solid day with a sixth-place run.

The results of his teammates seems to be in line with how the rest of the year has gone. While Keselowski remains without a Top-10 finish, Buescher has three top-10s in the last four races.ย

Two of Preeceโ€™s Top-10 finishes last season came at tracks coming up. He finished ninth at Martinsville last spring and seventh at Bristol in the fall.ย

The Cup Series heads to Martinsville next Sunday for the Cook Out 400, with the green flag set to fly at 3 P.M. ET.
