Scott Melton makes ARCA Menards Series return at Pocono

Scott Melton will make his return to the ARCA Menards Series this Friday at Pocono Raceway.
Melton will drive his usual No. 69 Ford for Kimmel Racing. It will be the first start for Melton since his horrific crash earlier this season at Talladega.
On Lap 48 of the Talladega race, the big one ensued and Melton couldn’t slow down in time. He slammed into fellow driver No. 7 Eric Caudell and both drivers sustained injuries.
Melton suffered a compound fracture in his left leg, which kept him out of action at Kansas and Charlotte, where Will Kimmel filled in for him.
In a quote from Will Kimmel, he said, “We are looking forward to getting Scott back in the car this weekend and working back up to speed. I’m really happy there’s a full day of testing Thursday to take out time since it’s the first time at a intermediate this year for him. The car has came back better than what we had at Charlotte and I hope it makes his return that much easier.”
The goal for this Friday is simple: Run all the laps and bring the car home in one piece.
Watch Melton and his other ARCA competitors race in the General Tire Delivers 200, this Friday, July 22 (6:30 p.m. ET; TV: FS1 and FloRacing).
