Stewart-Haas Racing closure to impact 323 people

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. — Stewart-Haas Racing notified the North Carolina state government Monday their closure will impact 323 people.

According to a WARN notice the organization filed with the North Carolina Department of Commerce, the closure will affect 323 employees, effective December 31.

SHR announced the closure earlier this year. Since then, four of their six full-time NASCAR drivers have found rides for next season, all in the Cup Series:

Ryan Preece, the current driver of SHR’s No. 41 Ford in the NASCAR Cup Series, and Riley Herbst, the current driver of SHR’s No. 98 Ford in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, have yet to announce their plans for next season.

SHR isn’t going away completely, however. The Haas Factory Team, as indicated by the name and retaining Custer, is forming from out of the closure of SHR.

There is no word yet on how many people HFT will retain.
