SVG, known for his road course and street course racing skills, led 12 laps en route to a fifth-place finish at Nashville. His prior highest finish on an oval was 10th at Kansas Speedway in Sept. 2025.

“โ€œIt was a pretty awesome day for this No. 97 Tootsieโ€™s Orchid Lounge Chevrolet team,” Van Gisbergen said post-race. “Starting up front obviously helps, but it was cool to lead some laps and battle at the front.”

After 14 races, SVG is ranked 12th in points with a 44-point cushion above the NASCAR Chase cutline.
