“I knew we were probably in a good spot staying out there,” Custer said. “It was a great pit call by Mike (Shiplett) to stay out. It is all about track position here. Whatever you can do on strategy and pit stops to get track position, it is what you need to do.”
“I didn’t know if he was gonna shove me back again into Turn 1,” Cindric said. “So, I adjusted my brake bias getting ready for it and trying to be as prepared as possible, because I knew if we were able to get to the bus stop, which was my car’s strength all day and my strength all weekend, if I was able to get to there, we were gonna be home sailing.”
Earlier in March, the 2020 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series schedule was announced, with Pocono Raceway featuring a doubleheader weekend, the first of it’s kind in the top levels of NASCAR in the modern era.
Bell led 186 laps on the day, including 153 laps straight, which enveloped the entirety of the final stage.
