NASCAR sets 2020 schedule through Cup Series regular-season finale weekend

NASCAR announced Wednesday (July 8) a new block of races for the 2020 schedule that will be between August 7 and August 30, consisting of races for the top three NASCAR series and ARCA.
Michigan International Speedway, Road America, Daytona International Speedway, Dover International Speedway and World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway will be hosting races throughout this time span.
In total, there will be 19 races run among the top three NASCAR series and ARCA during this time, with two additional NASCAR Cup Series doubleheaders planned for this time span, at Michigan and Dover.
Most notably, the Daytona road course will be making its first appearance on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule during the August 14-16 weekend at the track.
The Cup Series and Xfinity Series will return to Daytona for the August 28-29 race weekend to run the 2.5-mile oval configuration, in what is scheduled to be the Cup Series regular-season finale weekend.
The ARCA and the Gander Trucks will run at Gateway on the same weekend as the Daytona oval weekend. The Gander Trucks race was originally the first race of the playoffs but now will become race no. 14 of the regular season with the schedule realignment.

The Aug. 16 NASCAR Gander Trucks race at Daytona has been realigned from Iowa Speedway.
The July 30 Eldora Speedway and Sept. 6 Canadian Tire Motorsports Park Gander Trucks Series races will not be run as scheduled and will be realigned to other locations and different dates.
The May 30 Mid-Ohio and Michigan Xfinity Series races will be realigned to dates and locations yet to be determined as well.
More details on additional NASCAR national series events, including the playoffs, will be announced at a later date.
NASCAR’s modified event procedures and protocols have been finalized in accordance with public health officials, medical experts and local, state and federal officials. NASCAR will determine if fans are allowed entrance to NASCAR Cup Series races on a market-by-market basis, in accordance with local and state guidelines.
