Taylor Gray on pole for the GOVX 200 at Phoenix Raceway
AVONDALE, Ariz. — Taylor Gray captured the pole for the GOVX 200 as the desert sun dipped below the horizon at Phoenix Raceway.
This is Gray’s fourth career NASCAR O’Reilly Series pole and his first at Phoenix.

Jesse Love (27.545) came close to stealing the pole away from the Joe Gibbs Racing driver, but ultimately settled for second and the front row.
Gray’s teammate Brandon Jones, who captured the previous O’Reilly Series Phoenix pole, qualified third (27.581).
Anthony Alfredo started his double-duty weekend with a top five starting spot after his tremendous lap while the sun still shined.
The track gained more speed and became more advantageous as the sun set. Night fell on the track by the time two-thirds of the field made their runs.
Even still, Alfredo’s time of 27.671 seconds stood tall as he will line up alongside Jones in fourth.
17-year-old Brent Crews (27.684) joined his fellow JGR teammates in the top five. He will start his second career series event in fifth.
Kyle Sieg was the pleasant surprise of the session. He wheeled his No. 28 Ryan Sieg Racing Ford Mustang to tenth with a 27.818.
This will be his second career O’Reilly Series top ten start and his first since Nashville Superspeedway in 2023.
Sam Mayer dealt with power steering issues in practice nearly bled into the qualifying session. Despite the uncertainty in his car, he qualified 12th without much worry with a 27.847.
There was 40 entrants for 38 starting spots for the GOVX 200. Going home is Josh Williams, his second straight missed event, and Blake Lothian who tried to make his first career O’Reilly Series start.
