Blaney will remain in the No. 12 for Team Penske in the NASCAR Cup Series as one of the most predictable silly season dominos has officially fallen.

This is a partnership with deep roots. He first joined the organization as a development driver in 2012 and has grown into not just a cornerstone of the team, but one of the faces of the sport itself.

His first Cup start under the Penske umbrella came at Kansas in the spring of 2014, with one more appearance at Talladega. With no direct path to the main team, he was placed with their affiliate Wood Brothers Racing from 2015 through 2017.

His first Penske Cup Series start came at Kansas in the spring of 2014 and ran one more race under the No. 12 banner at Talladega before moving over to the affiliate team, Wood Brothers Racing, from 2015-2017.

Before the 2018 season, team owner Roger Penske had seen enough. He expanded to three full-time entries and brought Blaney back into the fold in the No. 12, a car he hasn’t left since.

In this current tenure he has collected 17 wins, 18 overall in his career, with eight of those coming with Menards on board as a sponsor.

“Ryan Blaney has developed into one of the elite drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the success he’s achieved speaks for itself,” said Roger Penske.

“I’m confident Ryan and the No. 12 team will continue to build momentum into the future, especially positioned alongside a committed partner like Menards who’s been instrumental to our team for more than a decade.” The Captain added.

“Roger’s commitment to me and my career has been something a race car driver could only dream of – not only getting the opportunity in the first place, but sticking with me through the highs and lows for more than a decade,” said Blaney.

“To still be a part of Team Penske – the wins, the championships, the people – and continuing to grow my career with the unwavering support of Roger and the entire organization has been the opportunity of a lifetime. We’re going to keep pushing to deliver more wins and championships and to do that with the support of John Menard and the Menard family is truly an honor.”

The winning trio has well-laid their foundation together and this contract extension will further cement their legacy together as one of NASCAR’s most memorable.
