The CW to broadcast final 8 NASCAR Xfinity Series races of 2024

BURBANK, Cali. — The CW Network will broadcast the final eight races of the 2024 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.

“As The CW prepares to be the new broadcast home of the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2025, we want to thank our partners at the league and at NBC Sports for welcoming the network into the NASCAR broadcast family and for the early opportunity to showcase these thrilling final eight Xfinity Series races of the season,” said Dennis Miller, the president of The CW Network.

NBC Sports will produce the races with Rick Allen, Jeff Burton and Steve Letarte in the booth. NBC Sports VP of Motorsports Jeff Behnke overseeing production.


“We have a great partnership with NASCAR. We welcome The CW to the family of NASCAR broadcasters,” said Rick Cordella, the president of NBC Sports. “This sneak peek of NASCAR Xfinity Series races will continue to feature NBC Sports’ critically acclaimed NASCAR production. It’ll assist in the transition for fans to watch the Xfinity Series on The CW full-time in 2025.”

The CW already signed a deal to become the exclusive home of the Xfinity Series in 2025. This deal accelerates that.

“We have incredible media partners who collaborate at an exceptional level to showcase the excitement of live NASCAR racing,” said Brian Herbst, NASCAR Senior Vice President of Media and Productions. “We’re looking forward to having The CW get a head start with the help of NBC Sports.”

The CW will kick off its run of races September 20 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Pre-race coverage will start at 7 p.m. ET and the race will start at around 7:30 p.m. ET.

The October 19 race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the November 9 Xfinity Series Championship race at Phoenix Raceway will have the same start times. The Las Vegas race was originally scheduled to start at around 3 p.m. ET.

These races will have pre-race coverage at 3:30 p.m. ET and the race starting at around 4 p.m.:

  • Kansas Speedway: September 28
  • Talladega Superspeedway: October 5
  • Charlotte Motor Speedway Road Course: October 12
  • Homestead-Miami Speedway: October 26
  • Martinsville Speedway: November 2

The deal The CW signed will see the network broadcast every Xfinity Series race, practice and qualifying event each weekend. It marks the first time every Xfinity Series race will be available on free, over-the-air broadcast television.

NASCAR Productions group will fully produce the broadcast in collaboration with The CW.

A Twin Valley, MN, native, Fjeld became a motorsports fan at just three years old (first race was the 2002 Pennsylvania 500). He worked as a contributor and writer for TRE from 2010-18. Currently, he resides in Albuquerque, N.M., where he works for KOB 4, an NBC station. He works as a digital producer and does on-air reports. He loves spending time with friends and family, playing and listening to music, exploring new places, being outdoors, reading books and writing among other activities.
