Truex moves up wins list, closes in on NASCAR record

Martin Truex Jr. is tied with Joey Logano and Ricky Rudd for 34th on the all-time Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series wins list after his victory Sunday (June 23) at Sonoma Raceway.

Truex earned his fourth win of 2019 and the 23rd of his Cup Series career in the Toyota/Save Mart 350.

Jim Paschal and Joe Weatherly are the next drivers ahead of the trio on the wins list, tied at 25 wins apiece.

Truex has the eight most wins among active drivers in the series. Seven-time series champion Jimmie Johnson leads all active drivers with 83 total wins, sixth all-time on the wins list.

APPROACHING HISTORY
Truex is a two-time Cup Series winner at Chicagoland Speedway, the site of the next Cup Series race.

The 2017 series champion has never won back-to-back points-awarding Cup Series races.

Truex leads the active competition with the most victories without winning consecutive races.

The Joe Gibbs Racing driver is tied for second all-time on that list with Ricky Rudd.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. leads the competition all-time with 26 wins in the Cup Series, never posting back-to-back points-awarding victories.
