Ty Gibbs records sixth career win at Atlanta

HAMPTON, Ga. — It was the only lap Ty Gibbs led, but his last-lap pass in the Nalley Cars 250 earned the Joe Gibbs Racing driver his second win of the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season.
Gibbs picked up the win at the newly repaved Atlanta Motor Speedway Saturday, outdueling Ryan Sieg for the victory.
“I feel like it ain’t over until it’s over, and I feel like I learned a great lesson tonight,” Sieg said.
The 19-year-old driver is the first driver to score multiple victories in the series in 2022. Gibbs previously won at Las Vegas Motor Speedway earlier in March.
Gibbs is now tied with Geoff Bodine, Noah Gragson, Butch Lindley, Chad Little, Mike McLaughlin, Rob Moroso, Regan Smith and Scott Wimmer on the series’ all-time wins list for 57th overall.
Prior to the start of the season, Gibbs was ranked in a 14-way tie for 72nd all-time on the Xfinity Series wins list.
OUTLOOK
The next race for the Xfinity Series is scheduled for Saturday, March 26 at Circuit of the Americas road course in Austin, Texas.
