Tyler Reddick claims rain-canceled Talladega pole
TALLADEGA, Ala. — Tyler Reddick claims his fourth NASCAR Cup Series pole of the season in a rain-canceled qualifying session at Talladega Superspeedway.
The series standout continued his high-achieving start to the season as he claimed his 15th career pole.

NASCAR’s performance metric system has tabbed Tyler Reddick as the polesitter for the second time this season, sending the newly minted Rockstar Energy driver to the front with a clear view ahead.
Kyle Larson joins him on the front row, setting up a strong front-row battle to open the event.
Three other Toyotas comprise the rest of the top five starters. Denny Hamlin and Bubba Wallace lock up the second row, while defending fall Talladega winner Chase Briscoe slots in fifth and looks to build on his superspeedway success.
Following Briscoe, Brad Keselowski looks to return to Talladega victory lane once again from sixth.
Behind him, Hendrick Motorsports teammates William Byron and Chase Elliott occupy the fourth row.
Finally, Ty Gibbs and Chris Buescher round out the top ten from the fifth row.
The event drew 41 entries, with Jesse Love, Chad Finchum, Joey Gase, Daniel Dye, and Casey Mears competing as open entrants for the final spots in the field.
With only 40 cars able to make the race and the qualifying session washed out by rain, owners points determined who went home.
Therefore Casey Mears was sent home after the session was rained out. He will have to wait another event to get closer to 500 NASCAR starts.
Below is the full starting lineup for the Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
