Victory Lane returns to traditional location at Bristol
BRISTOL, Tenn.— Victory Lane at Bristol Motor Speedway will return to its traditional location on the roof of a building in Turns 3 and 4 for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series.
The last three Cup series events held at “The Last Great Colosseum” have all had the Victory Lane Celebration on the front stretch close to fans lined up along the fence.
Bristol Motor Speedway did not respond to a request for comment on the reason for the change.
Seven-time Bristol winner Kyle Busch spoke about his favorite place to celebrate at the World’s Fastest Half-Mile.
“I’d like the Victory Lane celebration on the roof [at Bristol],” Busch said.
“I think that’s cool. You get to come in and turn up and drive up onto the roof and get up there, and they’ve got the pyro and all that stuff up there that’s really cool and the fireworks that come out from behind you and stuff.
I thought that was always really, really special here at Bristol to be able to go up there on the roof.”
Joey Logano, a two-time Bristol night race winner, doesn’t mind where Victory Lane is held.
“As long as there is a big burnout, I don’t care what we do after that. I just want to do a big burnout,” Logano told The Racing Experts.
The Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. ET Saturday.
