VIDEO: NASCAR Cup drivers comment on new aero package at Phoenix

AVONDALE, Ariz. — The NASCAR Cup Series field will race Sunday’s United Rentals Work United 500 at Phoenix Raceway with a new aero package in play.

The adjustments, including a 2-inch spoiler and the removal of three diffuser strakes and engine panel strakes, will lead to a 30% reduction in downforce, according to NASCAR.

The drivers are expecting more sliding around and more control but some don’t expect as much change.
