“Watch out, Carson”- Brad Keselowski’s message to Carson Hocevar after Darlington incident

DARLINGTON, S.C.- Carson Hocevar’s first NASCAR Cup Series Chase started in Carson Hocevar fashion, wrecking Brad Keselowski and leaving Darlington with another rival in the garage.

With eight laps to go in stage one, Hocevar got into the left rear of Keselowski, sending the No.6 car spinning on the exit of turn four, bringing out the caution to end the stage. The initial contact was fairly light, but as Keselowski tried to save it, Hocevar drove straight through him.

After the race, Keselowski didn’t mince words in an interview with Above The Yellow Line Media.

“His day is coming, and it’s coming hard. Watch out, Carson.”

As far as the rest of their day, Keselowski came home 23rd, while Hocevar finished 11th with no stage points. Hocevar sits 12th in the chase standings, -89 to Denny Hamlin who leaves Darlington still in the points lead.

Hocevar’s post race response when asked by several reporters about the incident with the No.6 car, he seemed to brush it off, saying he would “Tighten my belts”.

Jeff Burton had some harsh words for Hocevar during the broadcast and during the post race show, struggling to understand the logic behind his decision to drive through Keselowski.

Hocevar’s performances have fallen off a cliff in recent weeks. He’s now gone five races without a top-10, and since his victory at Talladega in the spring, he only has five top-10 finishes in the 18 races since.

Retaliation from Keselowski is probably unlikely at Gateway next week, but Bristol the following week would make sense for Keselowski to safely get revenge on the No.77 car. Hocevar will need a solid run of performances the next several weeks to give himself any real shot at getting back into the title fight.

The NASCAR Cup Series now turns its attention to World Wide Technology Raceway for the Enjoy Illinois 300 next Sunday, with the green flag set to fly at 3 P.M. ET.

  1. I believe Burton, the other post race announcers are just stoking the flames related to Hocevar to get attention in an attempt to gain some level of relevance towards themselves. They think they know what CH is thinking when in reality they know jack crap. And 99% of the post race commentary was NOT negative towards Carson. Stop being so stupid. Carson is good for NASCAR while most of the drivers are not. Go 77
